A file descriptor, as the kernel numbers one.

pub type FileMode = uint16

A file's type and permission bits. Sixteen bits here, where Linux's mode_t is thirty-two. The bit meanings agree; the width does not.

A byte offset within a file, 64 bits on every supported Apple target.

pub type GroupId = uint32

A group identifier.

A process identifier, as getpid reports one.
