FreeBSD's scalar types for process, file and user identifiers.

pub type FileDescriptor = int32

A file descriptor, as the kernel numbers one.

pub type FileMode = uint16

A file's type and permission bits. Sixteen bits here, where Linux's mode_t is thirty-two. The bit meanings agree; the width does not.

pub type FileOffset = int64

A byte offset within a file, 64 bits on every supported target.

pub type GroupId = uint32

A group identifier.

pub type ProcessId = int32

A process identifier, as getpid and its relatives report one.

pub type UserId = uint32

A user identifier.

Timespec

A duration or an instant, as seconds and nanoseconds.
